A Little Bit of Heaven—August 2nd, 2012

Happy Thursday!

I hope that your week, so far, has been wonderful, my sweet duckling. Life is pretty amazing! Think about it: we live on a beautiful planet, we can communicate with one another, we can connect, we can laugh, we can love.

Maybe I’m just extra-full of love today. I don’t know. But I do know that I have a huge gratitude list this week!

Gratitude lists. I’ve started doing this every morning as part of my morning routine. Not only do I have an amazing list to go back to when I write these posts, but I also am just seeing more & more in my life to be grateful for.

The blogging community. I’ve started to interact with other bloggers more (I used to be so scared of being judged that I just kept to my little corner of the internet & hoped people would find me), but the reactions I’ve been getting have been wonderful & super-positive. So welcome, new readers from various sources! I’m so glad you’re here.

Living in a country where my friend Kris can get married to his partner. They just got engaged. Congrats, you two!

New music. Again, again. There is so much good stuff in my ears right now. Andrew Bird’s latest. Electric President. Florence + The Machine. Vitamin String Quartet. Thanks, everyone. (Please feel free to comment with more music recommendations!)

Techie friends. Sometimes I need to get into the code of my website & it terrifies me. Luckily, I have friends who aren’t scared of such silly nonsense, offer to help out, & change the things I need to change. (On that note, my header finally points to home, & links are now a different colour from text!)

IMPROV. Oh my gosh you guys. I went to a jam with some ladies on Monday night & I had such a time. I am especially grateful for Laura & Tania being so patient with me, as I am just (re)learning these skills. I seriously can’t wait to do more. Love triple +.

Public art. I love the sculptures around this city. Well, maybe not so much the marble hydrants. But especially V.I.P. by Michael Bussière. It’s been inactive for ages, but it’s going again. I take every excuse possible to visit it.

Summer. There are so many more things I want to do this summer, but I am enjoying the heck out of it nonetheless. (On the list: derelict bike rides, more sunrises, beaches.)

Opportunity. I am so blessed to have the chance to try my hand at self-employment. I am loving it so far (although The Fear is starting to kick in)!

What about you, sweetbeet? What are you loving this week? What are you grateful for? I’d love to hear about it in the comments!
