Oh my lovely, oh my darling, oh my pretty… Summer sure is the best! Here’s what I’m so happy & grateful for this week!
Making new friends. Always. But even more than making new friends, making the decision not be scared to make new friends at a party. Talking to strangers in public has always been a little scary, & I think I’m finally getting over the fear.
Staying up all night & watching the sun rise over my city. I haven’t done this in absolutely years, & it was wonderful.
New music. I have a new friend who puts things in my ear like Pavement (how have I never seriously listened to Pavement before?!), Margot & the Nuclear So & So’s, & Electric President. I used to be so into new music, & that’s really fallen by the wayside, & I’m really happy to have a Tim in my life who tells me about good stuff. (Seriously, go listen to Margot & the Nuclear So & So’s “Cold, Kind & Lemon Eyes” right now.) (Also seriously, there were a lot of ampersands in this paragraph. Here are more: &&&.)
FMPB. Five Minute Phone Break. I do this with Jaime. It usually turns into 15 minute phone break. But we get to catch up & talk about our work & it’s just like I never left my job, although of course I did.
