I’m always looking for new ideas on how to put clothes together, & inspiration can come from anywhere.
Including my heritage.
Inspired by Sarah at Yes & Yes, I decided to put together a few looks based on the countries my family comes from – France (via Quebec), Britain (via the United States), & Scotland.
Vintage Gucci coat * Barney’s Getaway Cap * Aubin & Wills Bradfield Mittens * Call It Spring Allgier Moccasin Boots * Balmain Ultimate Fringe Suede Bag
Jacinythe lives in Quebec City in the winter & on the South Shore of Montreal in the summer. She writes fairy tales in both English & French while listening to jazz guitar. She wishes she smoked but never enjoyed them, but is definitely a fan of champagne. Her friends make fun of her for writing all her stories on a typewriter, but she simply loves the sound.

Alexander McQueen Structured Leather Blazer * See by Chloe Almond Swing Skirt * Ganni Angora Puff Hat * Ash Black Emma Fur Buckle Boot
Elizabeth runs her party planning business out of a huge loft space in Toronto. A driven business woman, she’s built it up to something she can be quite proud of. She has just recently started taking some time for herself away from her business so she can do some charity work & finally start thinking about dating again.
Bon Fire Chocolate Boots * Elizabeth & James Lewis Blazer * McQ Alexander McQueen Pleated Leather Mini Kilt * Michael by Michael Kors Rabbit Small Fur Messenger Handbag
Catriona lives in Halifax where she works part-time in a vintage clothing boutique so she can spend the rest of her time painting & drinking whiskey. Her boyfriend, a musician who has had some moderate success, buys her gifts of beautiful but useless things, which she isn’t ashamed to sell on eBay for some new paintbrushes.
Have you thought about how you would dress if you were someone different? If you were from a different heritage? Why don’t you try out building a clothing set on Polyvore & sharing it! Leave a comment, e-mail me, or let’s talk on Twitter!
